December along with January are the coldest months of the year in Cyprus. They also the months that get the most rain. December is also the month with the longest nights and least daylight. Despite these, December still offers some wonderful days with bright sun all day long and visitors from northern countries like the UK, Scandinavia and Russia, even find the weather warm!
Climate averages, average temperature, sunshine and daylight during December in Cyprus
Temperature on average is between 16 and 18 degrees for the coastal and inland areas and 8 to 11 degrees at Troodos mountains during the day. But these are the averages, there are days with temperatures as low as 10 degrees or lower at the coast and around or below zero at Troodos, as there are days with temperatures climbing to 20 degrees at the coastal areas. Night temperatures are 8 to 12 degrees at coastal areas, 6 to 10 degrees on the inlands and 3 to 6 degrees at Troodos mountain. It rains on average on 12 to 14 days and at Troodos it may snow, although this usually happens in January. Daylight is less than ten hours per day and sunshine 5 to 7 hours per day.
