Weather in Cyprus in May

Officially still spring, but the summer is here! Long, sunny days, time for sea and all kind of summer activities.

Climate averages, average temperature, sunshine and daylight during May in Cyprus

Really hot weather starts to show up. Average temparature is 24 to 26 degrees for coastal areas, 25 to 27 for inlands and 18 to 22 for Troodos mountains, but days with 30 plus temperatures are common. Temperature during the night falls to 16 to 18 degrees on coastal areas, 14 to 16 on inlands and 10 to 12 at Troodos mountains. Hours of daylight are 14 per day and sunshine expected is 11 to 12 hours per day. Daylight lasts until almost 8 in the evening.

The winter has passed for good, beaches are tempting, time for swimming, sea sports, diving. And later in the night, time to start dining outside!
Anthesteria, a festival dedicated to the flowers and Spring is celebrated all over Cyprus with gatherings and parades.
