Kathikas has a thriving agrotourism industry. Many very old, stone-built traditional village houses were renovated and are now used as holiday homes. There are also many newly built luxury villas, many with private pools, available for rent.
The position of the village is very advantageous. Situated on the Laona plateau, it overlooks Coral Bay to the south and Latchi and Polis to the north. There is no issue of safety, as never ever a tourist had to face any safety problem. Every now and then, however, it happens when tourists return from their day or night out, to discover that burglars broke in and picked their valuables, so always lock and do not leave money or jewelry or telephones and the likes behind.
